Anbernic RG35XX (2022-2023)
The original non-clamshell RG35XX. Horizontal handheld with 3.5" screen. Was one of the most popular budget retro handhelds. Now superseded by RG34XX SP.

The original Analogue Pocket units sold 2021-2024 at $199.99. Limited edition colors (indigo, dark brown, white, coral) are discontinued and trade at premium prices secondhand ($300-500+).

Original Game Boy (DMG-01)
The original 1989 'brick' Game Boy. Monochrome display. Plays all original GB cartridges. Can be modded with backlit screens (IPS, FunnyPlaying) for modern playability. Extremely durable.

The 1998 color successor to the original Game Boy. Plays both GB and GBC games. Small form factor. Can be modded with IPS screens.

The 2001 32-bit handheld. Plays GB, GBC, and GBA games. Horizontal form factor. Can be modded with IPS screens. Original unlit screen is hard to see — modding highly recommended.

The 2003 clamshell redesign of the GBA. Two models: AGS-001 (front-lit) and AGS-101 (backlit, brighter screen, more sought-after). Rechargeable battery. Foldable design. The AGS-101 is the premium vintage option.

The 2005 ultra-compact GBA redesign. Tiny form factor with a bright, crisp backlit screen. Only plays GBA games (not GB/GBC). Very collectible. One of the best-looking vintage screens.

The original Nintendo DS (2004) and DS Lite (2006) both have GBA cartridge slots and can play GBA games natively. Does NOT play GB/GBC games. Dual screen.
